Secret Stealth is coming to Bearfunk !!!

JIM BOB 2.jpg
Secret stealth are Jim Baron (Crazy Penis) and Bob Sadler (Fug), both well known for their work on nuphonic, paper recordings, tummytouch, session recordings and guidance amongst others, along with a list of remix credits as long as a toddlers arm.

Born out of one too many beers in the local, the two decided their fridays would be more fun if they left behind their serious, pressure-filled day jobs to make some fun- funk music together.

They dusted off the sampler, started listening to old acid-house records, left their prejudices at the door and this is the result - dance music which borrows from the past but doesnt get bogged down in the world of four to the floor. The three tracks on the e.p differ in style and tempos the only consistent factor is the quality!

The stealth influences are of course across the board, but none more prominant than the man to which this E.P. is dedicated - the late, great Ted Rogers (and his pesky bin). Not many people know Ted was one of the most sought after session musicians of the mid-seventies, pedling his wares on everything from Linda Clifford to Abba via Pink Floyd and tragically ended up sharing his dressing room with a two foot high plastic bin…..anyway I digress…SecretStealth, the sound of yesterday today!!

BFK011 is available through word and sound

Todd Terje aka Terje Olsen

Terje hails from Mjøndalen, as in Mjøndalen Diskoklubb the brand new release on Full Pupp, but there’s actually nothing clubby about that place, says Terje Olsen.

Studying astro physics and being a DJ was only ever going to end in one way:
Space disco! Todd Terje’s “Bodies” on Bearfunk07 was Terje’s first release, (although it was remixed by Prins Thomas). It rocked DJs worldwide with it’s infectious bassline and Prins’ disco drums, But Terje has many tricks up his own sleeve with some cheeky remixes on Swedish label GAMM backed by his own cover version of Kitty Winter’s “New Morning”! And he’s currently working on a remix of Snuten’s “Claws Against Knives (Wild And Free)”.

One thing Terje did wish he could is to make a non-stop disco soundtrack about a German safari-team in space….”I wish I had more time producing music, but studying Astro physics takes time too!”

I think we should help Terje to make his dream come true. German-Safari-Porn-In-Space anybody?

Full Pupp’s FP01 - Todd Terje “Mjøndalen Diskoklubb” is out in late January, distributed by wordandsound.

Full Pupp is here!

fullpupplogo.jpg

Full Pupp, the new kid on the Bear Entertainment block brought to you by Prins Thomas of Norway and Stevie Kotey, is about to launch it’s first release. With Creation of Full Pupp we speak to the Viking disko king Prins Thomas.

Q & A Session with Prins Thomas

Q: In 15 words or less describe your sound
PT: The sound of horny gay disko-vikings coming to get you…

Q: What’s the deal with Full Pupp? What other artists are on the label?
PT: The initial idea was “more killers, less fillers”. Though some might not
agree, I think the underground diskosound of Norway represents loads of
different flavours, and hopefully our outlet will reflect that (but still keepin’ it disko…). Expect some humpin’ pumpin’ seamen’s shanties from Rune Lindbæk, Todd Terje, Kalle Magnus & Daniel, Lindstrom, Bjørn Torske, yours truly…+++

Q: What’s in the water in Norway?
PT: Vann og fisk

Q: There seems to be so many great productions from this country - why?
PT: Possibly because the lack of a “scene”…Also, it’s a very friendly and non-competitive environment where everbody knows each other. Plus we
stole the Idjuts diskoballs a couple of years back and it has helped us tremendously…

Q: What flavours are you feeling particularly right now? Why?
PT: I’ve got the flu, so at the moment it’s ginger and lemon with honey.

Q: What projects are you working on at the moment?
PT: Solo Prins Thomas stuff, monthly radioshow on Shibuya FM (Tokyo), different stuff with HP as Lindstrom & Prins Thomas, some stolen rehashed diskonuggets…

Q: What is 59 + 280 (in your head no calculators)
PT: 339? What did I win?

You win a calculator !

Q: What do you see as your greatest achievement?
PT: Having kids obviously as I have 2…Musicwise, it’s got to be going to Japan

Q: What other life goals do you have?
PT: Eh….going back to Japan maybe? Oh, and to have more kids.

Q: Name 5 records you couldn’t live without
Holger Czukay - Movies, Walter Gibbons Disco Madness, Antonio Carlos
Jobim - Stone Flower, Kiss - Music from the Elder, Grace Jones - The Compass Point Sessions.

Q: What is your favourite traditional Norwegian dish?
PT: The only traditional dishes I know of is either rotten fish or sheep’s
head…No thanks!

2005

Well it’s 2005 hope you had a good new year !

What can you say about the Tsunami? No words can describe the tragedy that
has taken place. Our thoughts are with the people that have lost friends and
family around the world. xxx

ALTZ Easy Amigo EP (BFK010) is in the shops this week. It’s already creating quite a stir. The Version Idjut is really special I am sure you’ll agree!

The Buttocks (BE07) is the next instalment of goodness on Bear Entertainment. This is a semi live project from The Boss, “So Cheeky” (Disco mix) feel likes an authentic 80’s electro boogie workout but plays like a main room smasher the drumtracks machine is the key ! On the flip “I get deeper” was a live jam that recorded in one take the effect laden monster also has a vocal message for Afrobutt !

The shop is nearly ready !

Also Full Pupp is coming! so you better get ready for this new creation from Prins Thomas and Stevie Kotey. BTW Full Pupp is Big Tits (in Norwegian). So get them baps out and go disco crazy.

We have so many hot new signings! The A&R dept didn’t get a Christmas break.
I will soon reveal details of all upcoming projects! so come back an see me!
