Imagine if disco, house, ambient melodies and an abundance of cosmic musical samples colliding on one CD! Well that’s the sound of ALTZ the veteran DJ and composer of the Japanese scene.
YELL is the third CD project from Yamaga Takashi aka ALTZ his critically acclaimed LaLaLa was only released last year on Lastrum in Japan. NYC’s DFA have already picked up the Idjuts version of “Yello” which looks like it will be massive.
It was indeed the Idjuts that brought ALTZ to Bear HQ. After listening to the first drafts of the Yell “we knew there was something special in his style” quotes Stevie Kotey. And with ALTZ’s gaining his new found global following 2006 can only get better for him.
