Dean Meredith needs no introduction he is of course one of the founding members of the ever so consistent CHICKEN LIPS and has been plying his trade since the word go was invented.
So GOAT DANCE is his new project and what a way to kick start this special series.
“Sizzle” is a versatile track, you can play it at Panorama Bar (Berlin) at 8.00am or it can be played as a peak time record at your local disco. The phased out bassline reminds me of Giorgio Moroder’s “Theme from Battlestar Galactica”
But then transcends into a wigged out middle eight that had me thinking
“THE CLASH”.
“HIGH VOLTAGE” again builds on the same principals but takes a more electronic root with stealth percussion and a captivating rhythmic shuffle that only the GOAT could provide.
Last but not least “ZAP POW” If someone told me that “Ryuichi Sakamato” had a hand in this I wouldn’t have been surprised. Again the percussion ticks along layer upon layer of cosmic keyboards that have you thinking is this an edit of some old electronic masterpiece? Well it’s not it’s the sound of GOAT DANCE.
