News

Well your favourite hairy companion the bear is back on top of things after a self-imposed lull.

There is so much great music to come and many new signings and projects to tell you about so we thought let’s get together with a little newsletter.

Firstly

LEXX

In your shops right now is the hugely anticipated Lexx “Sirocco” on Bearfunk (BFK020). We have spoke about this bomb before so there is no need to cover old ground, all I can say is that you need this record. So get of your fat lazy ass and go hunt it down at your local record emporium you will feel better for it.

PRINS THOMAS

Also out in the shops now is our Viking hero and production wiz Prins Thomas’s mind bending “Fehrara” yes it’s finally here (FP05). This record knows no boundaries when comes to uniting the worlds crème del la crème dj’s. If I told you who’s was into Fehrara you might be surprised, but then again you might not. Oh yeah the other side asks the question “Is it big enough” a question that can only answered by Mrs Prins Thomas but we suspect after listening to it certainly is big enough.

Also Later this week

MICHOACAN

Michoacan is our man in L.A; The “Play Your Part EP” (BE012) is the work of a man on a mission. You cannot underestimate any of these tracks, “Sabor” being the perfect example of build up and drama. “Hold on baby we’ll make it” also has the same qualities with a humble beginning that leads in to a crescendo of chords progressions and sweet strings that leaves you fully satisfied. Make sure you PLAY YOUR PART and give this a try you won’t regret it.

OCTOBER sees another bumper month for all things BEAR related.

BRENNAN GREEN (OPTIMUS REMIX)

Brennan Green is considered family at bear towers any one that has had the pleasure of meeting him will now what a top top guy he is so it’s great to get the “Pluto’s Retreat” (BFK021 A) remix ready for you all. We chose well with this remix as Optimus none other than Pete Herbert and Mat Anthony deliver a scorching club version that has been played on many a Saturday night by The Idjuts and our boss Mr Kotey it’s pure e-music.

PISTON FISTON (FABRIZIO MAMMARELLA REMIX)

On the flipside Mr Kotey Presents Piston Fiston (BFK021 B). Though it’s a serious piece of music “Piston Fiston” is a term used by our good friend Young’un for describing using your fist instead of your cock when giving it to a lady “that fist should be moving faster than a Piston”. Just like this crazy inspired work that combines none other than Andrew Meecham (The Emperor Machine) on session musician duty. Then we rope in the Italian glamour boy Fabrizio Mammarella to remix the parts created and deliver the first instalment of the Piston Fiston project which sounds like 4 records in one.

MAX ESSA

The Midnight Garden EP (BE014) is a super classy affair that sees Stevie Kotey’s new production partner give up some solo work that is really gonna create a buzz. There are 5 tracks on this EP and all of them are stunning examples of how real musicianship always saves the day.

We will add a few tracks into the jukebox in few days so come back in few days to check them out!

The new batch of Pupps has already gotten support and plays from Carl Craig, Radio Slave, Idjut Boys, Tim Sweeney, Bill Brewster(MOS Radio), Chida(Crue-L Japan), and many other.

First up in the troika is label honcho Prins Thomas’s “Fehrara/Is it big enough?” (FP05), followed by Magnus International “Kosmetisk” (FP06) and Blackbelt Andersen “Alfas De Pi/Sandoz” (FP07).

In Prins Thomas’ own words: “It’s black, round, and you should spin it at 33 revolutions per minute…eh…please buy it so I can afford salt in my soup.”
